Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Expenny! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Expenny mobile application (the "App") provided by Vitalii Kikot ("we," "our," or "us").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Expenny is an expense tracking application that allows you to:

• Track and manage personal and household expenses
• Organize expenses into categories you define
• Use AI-powered features to create and edit expenses from text, audio and receipt images
• Share expenses with a family group of up to five members
• View spending analytics, and share individual receipts via a public link
• Receive push notifications about service updates and relevant information
• Access premium features through subscription plans

Expenny is not a bank, payment processor, accounting system, or financial adviser, and it does not connect to financial institutions.

Accounts & Authentication

Creating an Account

An account is required to use the App. You can create one by signing in with Apple, signing in with Google, or registering with an email address and password. You must provide accurate information and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Email Verification

If you register with an email address and password, you must verify that address before AI features become available. Manual expense tracking is available immediately. Accounts created through Apple or Google are treated as verified.

Linking and Unlinking Providers

You may link additional sign-in methods (Apple, Google, or email and password) to the same account, and unlink them provided at least one sign-in method remains. Account merging: if you link an identity whose email address already belongs to another Expenny account, the two accounts may be merged, and the data of both will be combined into one.

Account Deletion and Recovery

You may delete your account from within the App at any time. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period during which you can sign back in and recover the account; any subscription entitlement is revoked when deletion is scheduled. After 30 days, the account and its data are permanently deleted and cannot be restored. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Apple — cancel it in your Apple account settings.

Family Groups & Shared Data

• A family group may contain up to five members. Members join through an invite link generated by an existing member; invite links expire and can be revoked.
• Expenses you mark as shared are visible to every member of your family group, together with your display name and avatar. Expenses you keep personal are not shared.
• You are responsible for who you invite. Do not invite someone you are not willing to show your shared expenses to.
• If you leave a family group, your expenses go with you and become personal. If the owner dissolves a group or deletes their account, remaining members keep their own expenses and receive their own group.
• Free AI operations are pooled per family group, not per member.

Subscriptions & Billing

Plans

An AI operation is a single receipt scan, voice entry, text entry, or AI edit of an existing expense. Creating or editing an expense by hand is always unlimited and does not consume an operation.

Billing

• Premium is offered as weekly, monthly, annual and lifetime purchases. Current prices are shown in the App Store and in the App, in your local currency.
• Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A lifetime purchase does not renew.
• Premium applies to the purchaser's family group. If you leave that group, premium access from that subscription ends for you.

Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancel at any time in your Apple account subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then.
• We do not provide refunds for partial periods. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
• If a purchase is refunded or revoked, the corresponding premium access ends.

User Responsibilities

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You shall not:

• Use the App to track illegal activities or transactions
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers, or other users
• Misuse AI features by submitting harmful, abusive or inappropriate content
• Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, subscription checks or other restrictions
• Use automated means to access the API outside of the App

AI Feature Usage

When using AI-powered features, you acknowledge that:

• AI parsing is not always accurate — amounts, items and categories may be wrong
• You are responsible for reviewing and correcting AI-generated expense data before relying on it
• Content you submit for AI processing is sent to a third-party provider (Google Gemini)
• Do not submit content you are not entitled to share, or that contains other people's sensitive personal data

Intellectual Property

Our Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Vitalii Kikot and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the expense data, categories, and other content you create in the App. You grant us a limited license to store, process and transmit your content strictly to provide the App's services — including sending it to our AI provider for parsing at your request.

License Agreement (EULA)

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on a device you own or control
• Use the App for your personal, non-commercial expense tracking purposes

License Restrictions

You shall not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices on the App

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

AI Accuracy

We do not warrant that AI-powered expense parsing will be accurate. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated expense data.

Financial Decisions

THE APP IS A PERSONAL EXPENSE TRACKING TOOL AND DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL, TAX, OR LEGAL ADVICE. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on data in the App.

Availability

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may change, and individual features may be modified, suspended or withdrawn.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Vitalii Kikot SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruption or computer damage
• Any damages arising from AI processing errors

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50), whichever is greater.

Termination

By You

You may stop using the App at any time, and delete your account from within the App.

By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or illegal activity.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your license to use the App immediately ends. We may delete your account and data, subject to legal retention requirements.

Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ukraine. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
