Signing up with an email address? Verify it to activate your 20 free AI operations — until then, AI features stay locked, though manual tracking works in full. Signing in with Apple or Google activates them straight away. Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the App Store.
Questions worth asking first.
Do I have to connect a bank account?
No — and you can't. Expenny never links to financial institutions and never asks for card or account numbers. Every expense is something you scanned, said or typed.
What counts as an "AI operation"?
One receipt scan, one voice entry, one text entry, or one AI edit of an existing expense. Adding or editing an expense by hand costs nothing and is always unlimited.
Are the 20 free operations per person or per family?
Per family. They're a shared, one-time allowance for the whole household, so a family of four draws from the same 20.
What happens to my data if a family member leaves?
They keep their own expenses, which become personal again, and they get their own household. Nothing you entered is deleted.
Where does the AI processing happen?
Text, audio and receipt images are sent to Google Gemini for parsing, along with your category names so items can be matched. That's covered in detail in the Privacy Policy.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from inside the app. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period, so if you change your mind you can sign back in and recover the account. After 30 days it and its data are permanently removed.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Expenny is currently available on iPhone, and requires iOS 15.5 or later.
